Griffith sits between Highland, Schererville, and Hobart. Broad Street is the daily loop. Convenience is the pitch, not a new-construction skyline. You are still in Lake County, still close to I-80/94, and inside a town that has its own schools.
Who lives in Griffith, and why they move here
Griffith buyers are often payment-first. They want a solid house, a short drive to work or family in Highland, Hammond, or the south suburbs, and a town they can learn in a weekend. The housing stock is older and more mid-century than St. John or Winfield. That is why people compare it with Highland.
If you want a 2020s floor plan and a cul-de-sac, you will also tour Dyer, St. John, or Crown Point. If you want the interstate and a simpler payment, Griffith stays on the list. Get pre-approved before you tour. Clean, well-priced houses do not sit because the town is quiet.

We do not have a verified 2026 median sale price for Griffith. Check current listings and recent closed sales before you set a number. For regional context only, Highland’s Redfin May through July 2026 median was $273,063, Schererville’s was $350,075, and the Northwest Indiana June MLS median was $299,000. Those are not Griffith prices. Do not invent one.
Commute
Griffith is close to I-80/94 via Cline Avenue, Indianapolis Boulevard, and Ridge Road. IN-51 runs toward Hobart. There is no South Shore station in town. Rail is a drive to Hammond Gateway or the Munster / Dyer Monon Corridor stops. Confirm the current schedule. We will not invent a downtown Chicago drive time.

The public district is Griffith Public Schools. Confirm the school for the address you are buying. No invented ratings.
